Having earned his doctor of education degree from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, Ari Betof leads Organizational Sustainability Consulting, OSC, in providing organizations, including nonprofit and private sector companies, with the tools they need to operate sustainably. Based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ari Betof promotes the idea of organizational stewardship among the clients with which he works.
Organizational stewardship requires leaders to envision and act on efforts that will sustain them both financially and organizationally. For many leaders, that means taking an honest look at financial indicators, such as revenue and expenses, and planning ahead for how to realistically balance income and costs in the future while remaining mission aligned.
A number of financial and organizational concepts must be considered, including staffing. Leaders must hire talented and capable staff members that provide the resources needed to run the organization. At the same time, those same leaders must realistically build a budget for staffing that allows the organization to continue operating financially.

Dr. Ari Betof studied educational leadership at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. His doctoral dissertation was earned with distinction, and he eventually graduated with his doctor of education degree. Now based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ari Betof founded Organizational Sustainability Consulting, LLC, to provide nonprofits and schools with the tools they need to create financial and organizational sustainability. As part of that goal, Dr. Betof speaks at educational conferences and webinars including numerous state, regional, and national membership associations.
One of these organizations is the National Association of Independent Schools. Ari Betof has been a faculty member in the NAIS School Leadership Insititute and he has been a featured speaker at multiple NAIS annual conferences. Providing support to over 1,900 schools, the National Association of Independent Schools hosts an annual conference. Each year, the organization hosts its event in a different city, including Long Beach, Atlanta, and Baltimore. Independent school educators attend to gain insights into a variety of topics, such as innovation in schools and the future of education. Attendees also participate in workshops and network with one another at various events.
The 2020 National Association of Independent Schools Conference took place in Philadelphia and focused on the theme of legacy for educators and schools. Speakers delivered presentations centered around that topic, and provided details on the nature of education as a whole. The 2021 event is expected to take place online.
